On Eniwetok Island itself were the permanent headquarters

of CTG 7.2 (aruy Task Group) and CIG 7.4 (Air Force. Task Group). Eni~
wetok was the principal port of entry for ships and aircraft arriving
in the area.

It was the main assembly point for the test devices, and

for the preliminary assembly and testing of experinent al equipment.
