Thyroid dose from +32 - 150 rads by urine analysis, adults 100 rads by analysis of animal and human urine 160 rads recent recalculation for adults 700-1500 rads estimated for 2-4 year olds. 1963 (9th year) - Small nodule first detected in one girl. 1964 (lOth year) - Detected nodules in two more girls for a total of three. Two were age 13 and one 14. Operated on all three. Nodules not malignant. Two doing well on thyroid replacement therapy. One showed signs of hypoperathyroidiam, developed rheumatic fever, re- sponded well to therapy. with 29 children. The total population was 64 April 1, 1965 (11th year) - Detected three mare cases; one boy 12, one boy 17, one woman 41. Operated on all three. There was then a total of six cases with 9% incidence for the total population and 17% ineidence for children leas than 135 at time of exposure. October 6, 1965 (letter from Conard to Goding) - Detected five additional cases among Rongelap and Ebeye people. Detected five other cases where thyroid felt roughened.
