Dear Colonel Kamin:
You will recall that in the past you have been kind enough to help
us with some examinations on Marshall Islanders. At this time we have
four post-surgical thyroid cancer cases that need examinations to rule
out recurrence of their disease. In addition we have a 20 year old
girl who was exposed in-utero during the frist trimester and at the
time of the last examinations, the examining physician felt that the
. girl might have an endocrine problem, since she claims to have only
menstruated one time and she appears somewhat infantile. In view of
her exposure history an endocrinological work-up seems indicated. I
am enclosing past medical data on these five cases,
Dr. Knud Knudsen and I expect to bring these cases to Tripler
Dec, 10th if agreeable. We plan-to be on hand for the couple of days
necessary for the examinations. Mr. William Streenan of the AEC office
in Honolulu will be in touch with your administrative officer about
arrangements.
