Below decks, in addition to a large bunking area, there is
a hold 10’ x 25" containing a lab facility, portable x-ray,
and a darkroom.

Liktanur If draws 8’, has a 35 ton hydraulic crane amidships,

and will be able to load and unload heavy equipment and
personnel onto barges which will serve as a platform from t:he
Ship to the beach on most islands.

Two 27? vans have been modified to provide medical examination
facilities,

each with 3 air conditioned rooms.

They will be

docated athwartships and are removable so as to provide
adequate deck space for heavy equipment as required on nonmedical missions.

The DOE subcontract with U.S. Oceanography allows for use of
the vessel at sea for an average not to exceed 60 days per
quarter.

We will hold February 15th as a firm date unless unusual circumstances
force a change, and we ask all of you to let us know if you or a

representative of your organization plan to attend.

The exact starting time and room

number at Livermore will be furnished in the next week or so.

In the meantime, the Liktanur IT’ is open for a second mission in the
datter part of February.
Since we need more lead time for that
time frame than can evolve from our February 15th meeting, we ask
that you contact this office before February 1st should you have
a need for the vessel.
