SUBJECT: TO: JTG Surgeon 20 Dec 79 Sanatation and Veterinary Inspection of Japtan USAFE Commander JTG Commander IN- TURN 1. The island of Japtan was visited on 17 Dec 79 by Dr. Powell and MSgt Moore. One patient was seen with a fractured ankle, and was advised that the cast could be removed later this week. Another patient's eye was examined and his blg@pharitis was found to be resolving, so present treatment should be continued. 2. The medic at Japtan, Joe Saul, was informed that the clinic at Fnewetak, would be more than happy to assist him with definitive therapy that might be reauired for all patients. 3. <A veterinary inspection was performed and no major problem areas were identified. Food-stuffs were examined and no evidence of contamination is inspected and found to be adequate. likely.
