Dear Will:
In reviewing the blood volume data on the
Marshallese and Caucasians which we performed in
1961 and 1962, I find that there may be many errors
since we based our normal values om ideal weight.
As you have pointed out in the past these results are
f.
probably not valid as some subjects are either under-
or overweight. We should therefore like to include total
body water along with blood volume determinations:which
we plan to repeat in the 1963 survey.
Could you supply
us with tritiated water so that we can accomplish this
test? As F recall, you madé this offer back in 1961
when Y visited the Donner Laboratories. IT kmow you are
a very busy man particularly in view of your impending
trip to Mt. Everest but maybe you can take a moment (from
one of your coffee breaks) to answer.

to the Weavers and Wim Born. ZF don't think I have any
other friends (7) left at Donner. If F should go through
San Prancisco on Feb, 14th F shall certainly call you even
if you don't supply the labelled water.
