C.
Maintenance.
Inspections shall note deficiencies in
vessels! hull, machinery and equipment, such as, corrosion and/or deterioration
of strength members, leaky pipe lines and fittings, inoperative machinery and
hull integrity.

Emergency Equipment.
Inspections shall also include an in-
ventory and state of readiness of all emergency equipment.

FLOTATION.
All vessels shall meet the general principles and standards set
forth as follows:
a.
Lifeboats (if required)
i.
The name of the parent vessel,
port of registry, and
number of each lifeboat shall be plainly marked or painted on each side of the
bow of each lifeboat in letters not less than 3 inches high.
ii.
The cubical contents and number of persons allowed to be
carried in each’ lifeboat shallbe plainly marked or painted on each side of the
bow of each lifeboat in letters and numbers not less than 1 1/2 inches high. In
addition, the number of persons allowed shall be plainly marked or painted on
top of at least two thwarts in letters and numbers not less
