Our
The Meteorological Division of the U.S. Signal Corps Research and
Development Laboratory at Pt. Monmouth, New Jersey through their
Chief of Surveillance of Staff, Mr. E. Wiler, who is also project
engineer in charge of their West Coast office located at 75 South
Grand Avenue, Pasadena, California, telephone: Murry 1-8620, has
requested information so that they will be able to solicit your
office for & no cost transfer of one or more of these launchers.
The above office has a research and development program in process
at Cape Cenaveral and very likely will have the launchers sent
there after modification to their requirements, perhaps at Cooper
Development Corporation. Associated with this transfer may be
some related equipment.
In a conversation with Mr. Wiler on November 16, 1959 I suggested
that they formulate requirements and through official channels
apply to your Mr. Roy Nelsonfor this equipment. Please advise
whether or not such a transfer would meet with your approval and,
if so, with or without cost. We should also be informed whether
or not to accumulate cost relative to shipment. Please advise.
Very truly yours,
Cc. L. Blue
