3. YEMEN: Yemen has sitmed a mtual defense pact with Sandi Arabia, accord~
ing to an announcement in Cairo on 10 April. Ge=2 comments that the mct is
expected to bring Yemen into the Egyptian-“audi Arabian-—Syrian bloc. Yemen's
principal foreimm objective is axpansion into British-controlled Aden.
Adrerence to the ESS groupine is probably desimed te obtain increased Arab
support for Yemni claims to the Aden protectorate.

verse reaction in Japan ami throughout Asia.
Japanese reaction against the

There will be, however, increasing opposition and hysteria in Japan which will
