CR.SSROADE.
I can see no sbjection to release of the J.0.S. Svaluation Ree
port provided that deletions recommended by Colonel K. E. Fields in his
memorandum of Auguat 4, 1947 are made, in addition to the previously redlined deletions in copy no. 1 of series A of this Report.
2. In addition i strongly urge the ecowplete deletion of paragraph 3
on page 19, which rafars to the base surge from the BAKER bomb, Jt is
noted that this paragraph ountaina a referenee to Annex H whieh ie not
with thie copy of the Report. The deletion is recommended, however, be-
cause the informition referred to herein is covered by the Declaasification Guide and should not be released.
3. The inforration dealing with apeed and radius of base surge, te
ares of sontamination aswell as other tine and distance factors oon tained
in the Kepert would not be releasable under the Guide, dut there 1a ne abe
jection from the deolasaification standpoint to the release of this infor-
wation if the date are determined to have oo military significance. the
suggestion ty Colonel Flelda thet this determination ba made by the Arved
Foreesa would satisfy deolassification. The following dats are in this
category:
pege 2, party Uy--range figuress
page 26, pare 1B(2)e--epeed of base eurge.
