Continuetion of the Danger Area surrounding
. Eniwetek Atoll.

Reference is made to a memcranjium dated December 23,
1947 to the Air Cooi1dinating Committee from the Generali Manager, U. S.
temic Energy Commission, in which it was stated thet, as a consequence of
the tests of military weapons, grave hazards exist in an area surrounding
Eniwetok Atoll, after January 31, 1948 and thrcughcut the calendar year
1948.

Since these hazards will continue tc exist after the
end of the calendar year 1948 the Atomic Energy Commissicn is requesting —
the State Derarvment tc nctifyali Be eign gcverrmments cf the centinvance
oz the dancer area, is making ¢ public release te. the effect that the
danger area continues tc exist, and is requesting the Chief of Naval
Operaticns tec publish the necessary notice tc mariners.
It is requested that the Air Ccordinating Comzittee
take action tc warn all military and commercial air agencies through
appropriate nctices tc airmen that the danger zone described below
will continue tc exist unti i further notice.

Beginning with a point at 10° - 15' North ijatitude and
