These were sent back to the Scripps Institution of Oceanography for classification and counting and to the Naval Radiological Defense L: Laboratory for radiochemical analysis. The results of these experiments indicated that i: the feeding mechanism of the crganism affected the amountof activity assimilated, ‘2) the solid phases were concentrated in preference to non-particulate matter, and (3) there was no evidence of fractionation of isotopes in the assimilated material. 57
