MEMORANDUM for Mr. Boyer
This is with reference to Mr, Zuckert's memorandum to you
of June 11 on the sutject of CASTLE,
I have tren proceecing on the basis that the scope of the
CASTLE Operation would be firmed up some time in September when we
mow more of the capabilities of the ADP plant at Oak Ricge and of
the specific proposals from Los Alamos and Whitney. In advance of
that time I think it would te very useful to discuss the feasibility
of the nuxter of shots and the major problems that would arise in
executing a CASTIE program of the scope contemplated, I telieve,
hevever, that the perscnnel who should be involved in this sort of
consiceration shcvid be myself, Ir, Graves, and Gencral Clarkson,
enc scecorcingly, if vou agree and if im, Zuckert arvrces, I world
arrencs ve fet then together at an al vine after the return
from Uniwetok of General Clerkson and Ir. Graves, This would te
some tire during July.
