Dr. Conard visited Kili When in 1969 the people expressed concern about radiation at Bikini, but were worried that they might have to be subjected on their return to Bikini to medical examinations and particularly blood sampling procedures as was being done on the Rongelap people. It was explained that their radiation exposure on Bikini would be far less than that received by the Rongelap and Utirik people and that, since their exposure would not be expected to result in any detectable radiation effects, medical examinations and blood sampling would not be necessary.
