At Meeting 443 the Commission:
‘
Agreed that the problems relating to the conduct
of weapons tests would be explored informally by
the Chairman with the Secretary of Defense.
1 Aug.
AEC 141/3 circulated for the information of the
Commission a letter to the Secretary of Defense
regarding atomic weapons tests, and stated that
this letter grew out of the discussion between
the Chairman, AEC, and the Secretary of Defense,
as contemplated above.
