BRIEFING ON OPERATION HARDTACK
At Meeting 1301 on August 22, Mr. Strauss requested
a meeting of the Commission with the weapons laboratory directors to review the shot schedule of Operation HARDTACK with a
view to reducing the number of devices to be tested. This
meeting is scheduled for 2:45 p.m., Tuesday, October 22,
General Starbird, Dr. Norris E. Bradbury, Director, LASL,
Mr. Herbert York, Director, Livermore Laboratory, Mr. James
McRae, Director, Sandia Laboratory and Mr. James Reeves,
Test Director, Albuquerque Operations Office, will present
the briefing, which will last approximately one hour.
