ATOMIC BNERGY COMMISSION
WASHINGTON 25, D.C.
March 1, 1954

Dear lir, Jackson:
In order to be prepared for public reporting on the forthconing tests
at the Pacific Proving Ground after the conclusion of the series --

should such reporting be deened in the national interest -- the Coms-

’

sion and the Departuent of Defense have provided for compilation of
textual and pictorial reporting naterials,

It occurs to me that you nay wish to designate a working group to explore
the matter when the reporting uaterials are available and provide staff
analysis to the Board for its use in dealing with the questions that will
arise. We would be glad to nake available staff assistance and ienbership for such a group, The members of the group shouid be "Q" cleared
for access to Restricted Data, The designations might well be nade in
the near future, should you find this suggestion useful.
Sincerely yours,

/s/ Lewis L. Strauss
