GENERAL:
a.
TThe term Radiological Safety Operations (short term RAD-SAFE
OPRS) is a genneral term used herein to denote the broad aspect of safety
for personnel . from radiological hazards. It will include training personnel in radiiological safety procedures, passive radiological safety
measures, deccontamination activities for personnel and materiel, and the
collection, reccording anievaluationofresearch’ data to be translated
into operationnal proceduresforAirFarcé usage.Theterms Radiological
Safety — Rad E5afety - Rad-Safe are used interchangeably to denote the
specific application of Radiological Safety Operations for the prevention
and avoidance ~of healthhazards topérsorinel.” Radiac equipment is
radiation detesction equipment, such as Geiger—Mueller Survey Meters and
Camma Ionizati.on Chamber Survey Meters.

‘Ihe purpose of this plan is to furnish instructions to all
units of TG 7..4 for the conduct of Radiological Safety Operations during

Operation CASTILE (RESTRICTED, SI).
c.
rhe Comdr, TG 7.4, will establish a code to be used in con-
junction with periodic weather reconnaissance reports to report approximate air radization intensities encountered on regularly established
weather reconnzaiss ance or cloud tracking flights.
2.
TASKS OF OTHER TASK GROUPS:
a.

The Comr, TG 7.1, will perform the following services: .
(2)
Perform all ground monitoring services associated with
scientific missions, except those in conjunction with
aircraft and airborne collection of scientific data.

Provide laboratory services and technical assistance to
all Task Groups, to include:
