EPG PRESS RELEASE

Mr. Cannon notified me that the OCB today agreed to make the EPG
press release "after the fact". They made some minor changes in the
statement, changing the tense to the past tense to conform with

release after the fact.

The text is also going to read, "EPG will

remain available, etc" rather than "... will be available’.

Cannon got this information from Mr. Ghlke who was notcertain of
the exact words tha t the OCB agreed to, and did not know exactly which
day after the fact the release should be made! Therefore, Cannon is
contacting DOD in order to get the exact text from Mr. Irwin who
attended the OCB meeting. Then, DOD and DIS will come to an agreement
on the timing of the release.
I informed Cannon that if he could give us the exact text of the

release, as agreed to by OCB, by noon tomorrow we could provide for
notification of the JCAE tomorrow, so as to enable an issuance by
Friday, July l.
