EPILOGUE
1015
I have spent the last several minutes pointing out contrasts between what transpired at Oak Ridge 16 years agoand at the present
meeting, and I am afraid that these differences may have obscured one
very important similarity. It is apparent that underlying the many
experiments with radiation and radioactive materials there is a basic
desire to understand the mechanisms and processes of normal development. It is clear that we have made substantial progress in this
direction and that the recent advances in technique and concept should
accelerate this trend.
