Letters approved by the Commission at this meeting included a joint
AEC/DOD letter to the President on the comparative advantages of

atmospheric and underground testing, which would now go to the Secretary
of Defense for his signature.
Also approved was a letter to the President
on the follow-on test series.
Also mentioned was the report of an increase of off-site radiation level
following one or both of the U.S. tests at the NTS and the need to
develov meaningful and realistic information on this.
