Please contact me if you have any additions, corrections or comments. I am also enclosing a questionnaire which has been prepared by our subcommittee which I appointed at our August 26th meeting. The purpose of the questionnaire is to obtain a summary of the programs which are currently available or authorized through your agency to the territories of American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and Trust Territories of the Pacific Islands. In preparing the questionnaire, the subcamittee was guided by several assumptions. For your information they are: 1. The information is being gathered to provide committee members with a quick summary of programs provided by each agency. 2. The information is intended primarily for internal use to aid different Federal agencies in coordinating their program activities in the territories. 3. There is no need to duplicate the information contained in the Catalogue of Federal Domestic Assistance. 4, Camittee members who sense fram the summary that their own programs should be coordinated with another agency's programs can obtain details fran the appropriate committee member, 7 5.
