Dr. Donaldson stated that the purpose of the surveys was two-fold?”
ist, an evaluation of the restricted zone to determine if the danger
area is clears and 2nd, surveys to determine the concentration of °
radio nuclides in thewestern Pacific.

Dr. Donaldson said the employment of the SILVERSTEIN might look as
follows:
1 and 2 September 1958 - install equipment
3,4,5,6 and § September 1958 - evaluate the restricted zone
8 thru 21 September 1958 - Westerly dogleg survey to Guam
and return
