RADIOLOGICAL SAFETY
1. GENERAL: Residual radioactivity may remain in some areas
of FNIVETOK aTOLL necessitating monitoring and control of personnel
entering such areas. Travel control of personnel in contaminated
areas will be a function of TG 7.5, however troops of the garrison
entering such areas will in some cases require monitoring services
performed by TG 7.2 radsafe personnel.
2. MISSION: Organize and develop a radsafe organizstion to
accomplish the following:
a.

Perform ground monitoring services cs required,

b, Conduct radsufe orientation of all Armed Forces personnel of the ENIWETOK garrison.

c.

Provide radiac equipment for TG 7.2 requirements

including repair, spare parts and calibration facilities.
3.

TaSKS FOR SUBORDINATE UNITS:
a.

Unit Commanders will:

(1)

Appoint a unit radsafe officer and NCOs as indi-

cated in appendix I,

(2) Submit a roster of radsafe personnel showing name,
rank and serial number, to this headquarters, aTIN: Redsafe Officer.
Notification of changes in personnel will be made immediately.

b. The TG 7.2 Radsafe Officer will institute and supervise

a program for the continuous training of redsafe monitors and for
the orientation of all personnel in radiological safety,

c.. The TG 7.2 Signal Officer will maintain all radiac

equipment.
