Lilienthal

Your nice note of 17 May has just reached me, and I find
it difficult to express in words my appreciation for it.
I am
indeed happy to feel that cur efforts at Eniwetck have met with
your approval.
The success of Operation SANDSTONE was due to the individual

efforts of all concerned.

[ have never been associated with a

finer group of people than those connected with this operation.
The suppert we received from everyone in this operaticn, and particularly the Atomic Energy Commission, left nothing to be desired.
You leaned over backwards to meet our every request and I want you
to know that, along with everyone else in the Task Force, I
deeply appreciate your support.
With kindest perscnal regards,

Sincerely,

/s/ J.E. HULL
