ATRCRAPT AID USLICOP TERS:
a.
An U-21 helicopter crashed into the lagoon 1/y mile off "enry this
afternoon. The three crew members were saved, No other personnel
were on board.
b.
Cause of the crash is un’-nown et present. ( FAF)
Col Wines (TG 7.!') called -and wented to know if TG 7.1 had any objection if 7.4 sent all 6 F-19's back to Japan around 26 July. ‘lis
problems revolved around the shipment of these helicopters back
there.
TU-6 objected very violently md in a discussion between
Col Lucke, CDR Vendell, ‘ajor Fower and Capt Fieper other points
were discussed such as the inability of H-2l's to land at certain
islands, better rad-safe surveys made, etc. Col Lucke notified Col
Hines that 7.1 would have no objections if they sent back three (3)
H-1S's, but that we would require three (3) H-19's for the remainder
of the operation.

LISCeLLANOUS:
Major Kellocg of JTF SEVEN! desires to have 6 JTF SEVEN weather men remain
at NAN during the POPLAR event.
These men under supervision of M/Set Fatton
will make a weather observation from H-3 hours to 4-30 minutes then nove
into Bldg 20h for the shot period.
luster problems have been coordinated with the TG 7.4 senior officer at WAN.
JTs SSVEN will coordinate with the HCN Island superintendent. J-3 BIKINI
has been coordinated.
JTF SEVEN desired the men to come out at 4430 minutes to take another weather
observation but this was disapproved de to possible danzer from radiological
reading and the plan to assemble JUNIPER while the island is evacuated after
the POPLAR detonation.
