Dear Mr. Finley:

Following our telephone conversation of May 10, 1949, the following

items are suggested for attention:

In order to lighten as much as possible the air lift we wish
to send all bulky items -f equipment out to Kwajalein by surface
transporte We need authority for such shipments and a designation
or responsible party at Kwajalein to receive such shipments.

If a Naval Aide or liaison officer has been assigned he could
get such material noving,

A Navy account should be opened to cover operating expenses
in the forward area. Items such as:

Changes in the ship assigned for living and laboratory

facilities,

Installation of refrigerators, and extra generators.
Small stores, items such as field clothing (green work

clothes), field shoes, formalin, denatured alcohol, etc.

Has any progress been made in locating the reports of the
1947 expedition?

We are contimuing our efforts to obtain the most competent personnel

available for this year's expedition and will send you the data for the ID

cards as fast as the information is available,

Security clearances are being sent to Richland for processing.

examinations are being made with a chest X-ray, blood counts,
and shots

administered for the usual overseas requirement.
