Dunham, M.D., Director Division of Biology and Medicine FY 1967 FINARCIAL PLAN -- BIOLOGY AND MEDICINE PROGRAM BMEC:JCW The Division of Biology and Medicine has approved plans for a special survey of the Bikini Atoll during the months of April and May, 1967.. This dumvey will involve participants from the University of Washington, the U. B. Naval Radiological Defense Laboratory, and the Health and Safety Laboratory. No provision for logistical support for this study was made in the initiel financial plan for the Nevada Operations Office, and it is our understanding that fonds currently available are required for the support of research programs at the Eniwetok Marine Blology Laboratory and the medical survey under Dr. Robert Conard of Brookhaven National Laboratory. Accordingly, an increase of $16,000 in budget activity 06 05 02 has been approved and will be reflected in a financial plan change. Your assistance through the Honolulu Area Office in making arrangements for these surveys will be eppreciated. An increase of $23,000 will also be provided in the next financial plan change for costs associated with Operation HENRE.
