Medical, T.C., Special Service, and acco.int, and Cml equipment was initially handled undera consolidated requisitions were sllhmitted for a six monthssupplyof items pertinentto thesesupplyagencies. Later,separateSpecialService,Medioaland T.C. accoustnumberswere issued. Kith the exceptionof the Emgineerheavy e~ipment authorizedinitially for 18th EhgineerConstructionCompany,and the TO & B equipmentof that unit, all Class II, IV, and V suppliesand equipmentfor the 1220thProvisionalEngineerBattalionwere packedand cratedby the Army or Navy agency furnishingthem an~they delivereddirectlyto the Nwy for loading. Supply Officemsofthe 1220thProvisionalEngineersupervisedthe conditioning, packingand crating,and deliveryof all equipmentand supplies, for loadingaboardthe 4 LSTfsand lCIMAV1allotedfor the movement forvmrd. All equipmenton LST’Swas to have been loadedthroughthe bow doors,at IroquoisPoint in order to insureexpeditiousdischarge, and loadingplanswere submittedto Pearl Harboragenciesresponsiblefor loading. In general,the policywas to placeas much whesledequipment as possibleaboard USTIS,and to combatload the vehiclesto facilitate discharge.
