The original plan called for Oahu to provide
original supply of the initial force and materials for rehabilitation
of Kwajalein. Other supplyand resupplywas to come from the U.S.
HOW-
ever, it wks found that Oahu had substantial quantities of required army
type items
end could normally provide quicker supply action; so the scheme
wks changed to make Oahn the principal supply point. Such items as could
not be obtained in Oahu were passed on to the U.S. for supply action.
Considertiblequantities of aappl~es were available from
surplus and excess from both ~
and Xavy sources, otherwise it ia
doubtful if Oahu could have operated effectively us the main supply base.
