As you knew, a series of nuclear teste will be held at the facific
Proving Ground in the near fatare. In order to afford importent
governmental officials an epportunity to keep abreast of develop-
ments in the weapons field, the Comission with the fepartment of
Tefense is arranging an efficial observer program. (n behalf of
the Commission I would like to invite you to attend.
Siz vbserver trips are scheduled, the first to depart >ashington
about April 26 and the others to fellow at intervals of about
fifteen days. [+t is planned that observer carties will leave
washington aboard a special mission aireraft about six days ahead
of the scheduled date of the shot, be in the ferward area about
four days, and then return, taking four days for the return trip.
In all, the time away from Yeahington would be some twelve days,
more or lass.
