SIGTOT system, one special ECM chanel was provided for use between
the three major ships and other major commands connected with this
operation.
This channel was in addition to the normal allowance of
these commands and tended to reduce the load materially on normal
Joint crypto systems.

To provide for inter telephone communication between
the three major ships and all the islands of the Eniwetok Atoll
special AN/TRC-1 gear was installed.
These circuits were tied in
with the ships telephone switchboard and provided facilities for
the discussion of nonolassified matter in an expeditious manner
between persomel located in the various large ships and on the
principal islands.
In addition to these telephones, Navy type MBF
units were installed in the staterooms of the Commanders in the
three major ships to provide intercommuniocation facilities.

Certain boats of the boat pool and those of the major
ships were equipped with SCR 610 radio gear to insure positive oon-
trol of the movement of boats within the lagoon.
Due to the special .
mission the AVR's were to perform it was necessary to install the
following listed additimal equipment on each AVR: 1 TCS-15,
1 AN/ARC-1, and 4 SCR 300.
‘This additional equipment insured posi-
tive commmication with the AVR's at all critical times.
d.
In all small ships and oraft that were schedule to
be evacuated from the lagoon, SCR 610's were installed so as to
. provide a voice tactical circuit for maneuvering.
