but after various augmentations, this requirement was fixed finally on
8 December 1947 at twelve (12) Mothers and twelwe (12) drones.
In view
of the inoreased number of aircraft and the critical shortage of control
equipment, a need for experienced technical assistance was established,
and action was initiated to obtain the ‘services of three (3)
civilians
from the Air Materiel Command during the overseas operation.

Photographic Requirement.

pertaining to the Task Force on 14 November 1947.
The Joint Task Force
SBVEN Photographic Officer was responsible for coordinating photegraphic
matters among the various groups and units and providing plans for accomplishment of technical and documentary photography for the operation.
He
was further charged with the responsibility of monitoring the exeoution of
these plana, personnel procurement, seourity coordination, and procurement
of technical equipment and supplies.
The photographic plan entailed two distinct phases.
First, dooumentary
photography, consisting of a pictorial history of the project designed to
include activities of the Atomio Energy Commission, the Air Force, the Aray
and the Navy.
The second phase, technical photography, included ground and
aerial coverage of the phenomena for the purpose of scientific measurements
and other data.
Facilities in the Zone of Interior were used for processing
the bulk of the film, and a amall photographic developing unit was estab=
lished on one of the ships at Eniwetok for emergency work.
The 16th
Reconnaissance Group (VLR) Mapping implemented the photographic plan by
forming Task Unit 7.4.5 te accomplish the missione
