DEPENDENTS HOUSING ON ZNIVETOK
Installation of partitions, roofing repair, screening and
other carpenter work is proceeded apace on the conversion of the
twelve family dwellings and, together with the interior painting,
was completed 25 May 1948.
The electrical wiring, to include the
heavy jJuty service lines neeiled for the electric water heaters and
kitchen ranges, coomnenced on the receipt of wiring and switch boxes 2O May
1943 and was completed before departure of the last of the Sandstone
forces.
The plumbing, a rather considerable installation, started on
20 ay 1948 with the arrival from Kwajalein of some of the materials
and equipment required.
Installation of lavatories and showers or
renovation of the existing ones, was finished on 27 way 1948.

in eleven toilets, with the accompanying drains and Navy
cube sceptic tanks, is a considerable task carried on after the departure ot the Pickaway by fifteen plumbers ot the Army Task Group, and
is expected to be completed before they leave Eniwetok by air 16 June
19:8.
