Forwerded as a matter of interest are copies of a summary and
report entitled "Medical Survey of Rongelap People Five and 61x
Yeers efter Exposure to Fallout.” The report was prepared at
the Brookhaven Nationel Laboratory based on data obtained by
Dr. Robert Conard and essocletes. The summery was prepared by
Dr. William E. Lotz of this Division.
The fectual make-up of
this meteriel is considered non-controversiel.
In brief, the Marshellese are not showing clinical signs and
symptoms or abnormalities clearly attributable to their 1954
expgsures
They coptinue to show, however, low body burdens of
sr, cst37 and zn, ell of which we believe to originate
the contemination in their current food supplies; the Zn’?
believed to come from the seafood caught locally.
