The visit of Mr. Rasmussen of the AEC and I to Saipan and the Marshail
Islancs last month was most satisfactory, and I greatly appreciated your
support of the special medical project at Rongelap.
The personnel of the
Trust Territory on the entire trip were most cordial and helpful, and I reel
that our discussions with them will result in much better understanding of
our mutual problems.
I had discussions with Luke Howe at Saipan about survey arrangements
for next March, and he has agreed to furnish the usual medical support,
including certain Trust Territory personnel participation.
At Majuro, Dwight Heine and Danny Akimoto were most helpful in survey
arrangements at the district level.
