A damage and radiation survey was conducted on<i
day.
This survey covered the eastern and northern islands of
the atoll and was conclusive enough to limit reentry to Enyu,
Biking and Airukiiji on the first day.
The survey on D+1 day
indicated that recontamination was limited to the Yurochi -
}Aomoen chain and the Bikini - Enyu sequence of islands.
No
mterisl secondary fall-out was encountered at Bikini Atoll as
8 result of this detonation.
Lagoon water was materially contaminated with radioactive
. tediment.
Readings of 4.2 r/hr were obtained at an altitude of
: 4 feet over zero point.
This contamination moved to the west
‘ and southwest so that small boat operations could be conducted
= in the area.
