Army and contractor personnel worked together in preparing the
equipment end buildings for protection against blast end inclement
weather.
411 windows were left open, doors were removed, and certain
structures tied dom.
In addition, cll exposed equipment vas covered
vith selvaged canvas for protection.
This project involved many man
hours.
On 19 October 1952, the CJIF 132 published Operational Directive
Number 1 (MIKE Event) vhich gave this Task Group the "Go" sign for
puolication of it's orm operation orders.
So to implement evecuction
proceéures, OTG 132.2 issued TG Operational Directive,
24 October 1952.

This emphasized the critical items of CT 132.2
Operation Order, Number 2-52 pert-ining to the MIKE Shot and supple~
mented and amplified the evacuation instructions contained in Annex 4,
Evecuation and Annex L, Radiological Safety.
The key to the orderly
evacuation was contained in Annex A of the operational directive, which
wes & "Chronology of Svents and Check List".
In order to provide ea check on the procedures prescribed for unit
evacuation n letter of instructions concerning on "Bvecuction Rehearsal”
ves distributed on 24 October 1952.
This letter ms in imp'enentation
of CUTF 132 Operational Directive Number 2 prescribing an evacuation
reheorsal.
Included in the rehecrsal vas a test of procedures by an
ectucl evacuation of representative groups of the lowing Task Group
Elements:
7126th AU, 4th T Truck Co, 516th MP Sve Co, and TE 132.4.1.1.
To further insure readiness for evacuction, a roll call formation was
prescribed and 211 Task Force Elements on Enivetok Island held a form
