Kuboyana was perforned on 24 Septerber 1934, betyeen 0610 end 6520 hours at the dissection rcoa of the First Tokyo FKational Hospital, 5 hours and 14 minutes after death. The autopsy was attended by Higashiichi Kuriyasa, Vice President of the hotpitel; Dr. Tochiku, Professor ermcritus of Tokyo University; Profeszor Shinizu, of Tokyo Vniversity; Dr. Omura, Chief of the Hospital Section, Sursau of Me“ical Affairs, Hinistry of Welfare; the group of physicians who treated the p2itient; Profesror Fiyake of the Fathology Department, Totyo University, and the uicber3s of his class, Messrs. Saito, Fukushi, Fulhuda, Ohuhira, Gtsura, etc; [onsen (sic] Chief Pathologist of the 403th Corps, United States Army; Dr. Rusano, Assistant Professor of Pathology in communicable dis-~eases; Dr. Hitsuda; Oishi Eto, Chief Prthologist of the Koto Premedical Berartrent, end others interested in this ccse, CLINICAL DATA Frior to the autopsy Dr.foyama, Chairnan, Department of Internal Hedicine and Dr. Kumatori, Chief Physician gave a full one-hour report on the clinical progréss. A sunsary of this report is given below; Aikichi Xuboyama: age, 40; sex, male. Clinical dilacnesis: radiation sickness, Ur. Euboytrva ves exnosed to radicactive ash noar Sikind on 1 March 1954. He spent tyo weeks as chief radio operator aboard the ship following the exposure, arrived at Yakizu Port, Shizuoxa Prefecture, and was hospitalized at the Internal Medicine Departzent of the First Tokyo National Fospital on 28 March, At that tine he was treated for radiation Gerratitis in the neck, the lateral cervical resicn, and the legs. The red cell count was 3 million when he was first hospitalized; bleod platelets were bet8een 30,000 and | 40,000. Later, following blood transfusions, the red cell count increased to between 4 nillion and 5.3 million, and the nurber of blood Platelets rose to about 300,000.
