cA,

The first measurement was made by Dr. Hempeleann and Borman Knowlton

at Los Alamos Hospital. They monitored our hands anidchest. They
have the record of what this was -- I believe it was just background.

This was approximstely midnight, Baturday, May 15, or about thirty-six

hours after it happened.
Q.

What about pocket meters? When were you first given ons, was it
changed and did you mow anything about reading thent?

A.

We were given two dosimeters before we even got any place near the
drene, While we were waiting for ths drones to come in.

One had a

capacity of 200 millircentgens and the cther, a bliue dosimeter, went
up to 10 FR, After three top filter mits vere lifted down off the

fork, I was told thet the blue dosimster which went to 10 EH. read

7 E., ani Comanisr Yentergriff replaced this with another 10 R.

dosimeter.

He mentioned that it may have been leaking.

This one I

know read 34 EB. I was given another dosimeter. What this read I
don't know. The use of the 200 millircentgen dosinster was abandoned
because they all vent off scale. Esd three of these. The film badge
was placed in the sans place as the dosimeter.
You bad no occasion to touch any plece at any tire other than the
filter units?
