I am sorry to have been so slow in producing this chapter, and
now. that it is complete I hope it will meet your criteria.
It has certainly been a very educational and worthwhile effort
from my own standpoint, so I am very grateful to you and John
for laying the task on me.
As I indicated on the phone I have not proof read the material
as it was typed after I left for Los Alamos.
On the other hand,
I am sure it is in reasonably good shape, and 1 will forward a
copy later that I will have read personally as soon as I get
back to DC which will probably be around the 19th.
I appreciate
very much your offer to help with the references.
I think they
are now reasonably complete, but it would be well if possible
to have someone check them for accuracy.
You will note that I
have indicated several of them have also been reproduced in the
JCAE Hearings on Fallout.
I do not know the policy of the
ADVANCES IN BIOLOGICAL AND MEDICAL PHYSICS, but I do think it
would be helpful to some readers to have this information.
I
would like also to be able to include at the conclusion of the
article a statement to the effect that I appreciate very much
the assistance given me in the preparation of the manuscript by
Dr. Forrest Western,Assistant Director for Radiation Protection,
and Hal Hollister of the Environmental Sciences Branch, both of
the Division of Biology and Medicine, USAEC, who made many helpful
suggestions in the preparation of the manuscript.
I would appreciate knowing as soon as possible when the volume
will come out.
Also I would like to order several hundred
reprints of the chapter if this is possible, and finally, what
is your policy concerning limited distribution of advanced
copies of the chapter to interested persons?
