In-flight reports on rediation will be mde in
conjunction with the standard weathcr reporting
messages usod “or weather reconnaissance flights.
Special reports arc to be transmitted for cny
positions where radiation intensity roachos a
maximum along a segment of the flight track, regordless of whcther or not such positions concide
with points of regular 100-mile weathor reports.
Additional special reports should be mado at
criticel positions in the flight track, such as
positions which define a cloud boundary, a turn
out point, or any othcr unusual situation.

Heavy Particulate Sampling Sortios:
(a)
One (1) WB-29, coll sign WILSON ONE, will take off
at approxinatoly H-5 hours,

will be specified in Annex "C","Mission Exccution
Schodule", This aircraft will contact tho ENT ETOK
AOC in VHF Channel "C" and on HF Cireult J-410
immediately after take-off. The aircraft will por~
form weather reconnaissance within 50 miles of the
' ENIVETOK Area and report any significant woather to
the AOC, . WILSON ONE will then prococd to BIKINI roporting weathor enroute, Whon 90 miles out fron ENIVETOK,
WILSON ONE will be instructed by the AOC to call the
COMMAND SHIP CIC for control and further instructions
on VHF Chamel "F',
The COMMAND SHIP Controllor will
instruct WILSON ONE to roport any further significant
enroute woathcr, over VH’ Channel "F", or HF Circuit
J-410. WILSON will thon be instructed to perform
local weo.thor reconnaissance in the BIKINI trea and
to perform an "Upwind" woathcr run culmimting in an
H-Hour position as required in Annex "D", "H-Hour
Positions and Flight Patterns",

H-Hour, WILSON ONE will be instructed to change to
VHF Chanmel "i", At approximately H/2 hours, ‘IILSON
ONE will be directed by the CIC Controller to conduct
the Heavy” Particulate Sampling Operation,
Tho tinc
of this Operation will be decided by tho Scicntific
Director in thc Control B-36, WILSON ONE will also
bo provided all significant rad/safo forocasts, prior
to tho sewapling operation, by tho CIC Controller.
Sefeguarding of the aircraft and crow, however, will
be the re sponsibility of the rod/safe monitor aboard
WILSON ONE, After tho sampling opcration is com
pleted, WILSON ONE will bo vectored back to ENT ETOK by
the CIC Ciontroller. When 90 miles out from ENT'ETOK,
WILSON ON'S will bo instructed to call the ENIUSTOK .0C
on VHF Ch.enncl "C" for control ond further instructdons. Thc ENT/ETOK £00 will vector WILSON ONE to
ENIVETOK for lending.
