Failure of IFF interrogator and/or HF Homer in Control
RB-36 (Diseretion of Senior Controller).
GENERAL:
a.
TP-84's:
In the event one (1) F-84 fron a two (2) ship ecleacnt
is forced to abort the other aircraft of that element will acconpany it to
“ase.
b. Control RE-36: -In the event the Control RE-36 is forced to
abort prior to take off, the scientific and control tcoan will board the
back up Control RB~36 and take off with as little delay as possible,
In
the event the Control RB-36 is forecd to begin an abort vorior to E plus
tvo (2) hours, unon landing the scicntific and control team will board
the back up D-36 control aircraft which will be standing by with engine
running. The CIC will take over control of all airborne F-84's and SAR
aircraft for the duration of any veriod in which the 3-36 Control airereft is not available and will coordinate all readjustments necessary in
F-34 flight plans, In the event of abort by the Control RB~36 after I!
plus two (2) hours, the sampling operation will be cancclied, unless
otherwise directed by CTG 7.4. Instructions pertinent to this situation
will be releycd to all coneerned agencies by the CIC, USS ESTES,
