COAARD Ol Thre (24 14OF HOA: WKS-4595 Dear Mr. Bonnet: Thank you for your letter of November 6 advising us of plans for Mr. Streenan's visit on or about December 4, We shall be very pleased to see him and to help him make contacts with individuais whom he may wish to see. By copy of this letter, I am advising Gordon Findley, head of our liaison office on Guam, to be on the alert for Mr. Streenan and to assist him in arranging a flight to Saipan. The Saipan visit should pose no problem inasmuch as we have daily flights to and from Guam and Mr, Streenan can spend as much time on this island as may be appropriate for his interest. Your proposal for a one-day visit on Majuro, however, is more difficult to scheduie. Our present air service provides once-~-aweek flights from Guam to Majuro via Truk and Kwajalein. (Schedule enclosed.) You will note that the flight departing Guam at 6:30 a.m, Monday arrives in Majuro at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday after overnighting on Kwajalein. The plane is on the ground only long enough to refuel before heading back to Guam via Truk and Kwajalein. This means that Mr. Streenan would have to spend about a week on Majuro if he depends on our Trust Territory service. If his mission is regarded as of sufficient importance to the AEC, it might be possible for you to arrange a special flight from Kwajalein on a military aircraft, but that would have to be worked out by your office in consultation with Col. Frank C. Healy, Commanding Officer of the Kwajalein Test Site.
