The shere party will arrive at Rengelap by air about ene

Weobiji Islets. Gbaervationa will be made of previously
established plots and trees, seme ef which have been fertiiised with both macre- ané trace-elements. Feliage and seils
from some ef these plots will also be celiected. Feod items
will be collected from previevaly marked areas when possible.
Special attention will be given to collecting scil cores and
wood saspbes which pilot studies have shown to be promising
for determining the distribution of the radionuclides by a
combination of autoradiegraphic, radiochemical and gamma ray
spectrometric analyses. Upon arrival of the ship there will
be a backleg of samples to be processed. These will be oven
dried, packed in chests, or stored in the reefers as s00n as
possible after arrival ef the ship.
