Attached is an updated summary of the Marshall Island plutonium data which
I just received from HASL,
which is encouraging,
1.

The more recent analyses tend to show lower levels

I would conclude from the data trat:

If the plutonium levels are not due to contamination the body burdens appear

to be derived from contamination of the islands and not from absorotion of fallout
during the testing program since:

(a)

The sohool children on Rongelap had comparably high levels,

(kh)

The Peace Corp volumteer had as high levels as others,

(c)

The more southern islands (Ebeye and Wotje) personnel showed levels

not very different from N.Y. residents,
2,

Contamination may still be a factor.
I will look forward to the report of your committee.

With best regards,

kat
