Dear Dr. Lawrence:
The official techoical motion picture report of
Joint Task Force One on the atomic bomb tests at Bikini, is
now in preparation by this office, as outlined in the memorandum attached.
In the introductory phases of this fila, it is desired to make use of motion picture footage of distinguished
personnel, including yourself, made by the March of Time for
their reel on atomic power. The March of Time is willing to
furnish the film to this office, providing each individual
acientist approves the use of thia footage by signing the stand-
erd release form.
The footage will be used only in thi. official fovern-
ment film, which will be classified and will have no public
showing. Your release of the film will relieve the March of
Tine from its agreement with the scientists for this single
use of the footage only. Use of thie footage, which is already
made, will save the government time and expense, and will
enhance the value of the official report.
