Dear General Clarkson:

In connection with the special studies on persons exposed

to radiation from fallout, I have requested Dr. George V.

LeRoy to represent me and keep me advised of any medical
problems that develop in connection with this progr:n.
Dr. LeRoy is a Consultant of this Division and is under
appointment as its Deputy Director. He has had a long
experience in radiation medicine and is very familiar
with the operational problems of a large test effort,
having been director of the biomedical program at
Greenhouse under Dr. Graves.
Dr. LeRoy’s primary mission is to implement our desire
to be of every possible assistance to you in meeting
these difficult problems arising from the exposure of
persons regident in the Trust Territory.
