The UMBRELLA device was loaded on the USS GRASP (ARS=2h) at' 155 today. Movement to the GRASP was via the CMR Compound with security convoy to the deepwater pier. b. 2. The GRASP will get underway for the UMBRELLA zero site at 080630M. SHIPS AND BOATS: The M. V¥. ACANIA underway for Hawaii at 071130M. 3. MISCELLANEOUS: a. After publishing the UMERELLA Evacuation and Re-entry Check List callg. were received from Projects 3.8 (TG 7.3) and 50.1 (Scripps) requesting the remarks be changed to indicate Bradley and Armstrong of TG 7.3 and Mr. Lou Kidd of Project 50.1 remain on Glenn during the detonation. b. A call to Maj Mactovern (Lookout Nountain Laboratory) did not reveal any official permission to man the station. Mr. Kidd was staying because Bradley and Armstrong were and he had been assured that no danger existed. Mr. Kearns and ir. Armstrong (Proj 3.8) were queried and they stated they had received an OK fron Rad-Safe and assumed no further official sanction was required, ce Mr. Vay Shelton (FOPU) stated Glenn is near the edge of the fallout area and recommended not manning station unless very important data is being sacrificed. d. Mr. Shuster after consideration of the above decided station at Glenn would not be manned. LtCol McClure (TU-3), Lou Kidd (50.1), and Maj McGovern (1G 7.3) were all notified. ZY e. CJIF SEVEN gave official notification that today is MAPLE-2 and UMBRELLA -2 (7 June). h. All personnel on J-3 list were notified.
