Haggerty Division of Biology and Medicine United States Atomic Energy Commission Washington 25, D, C, Dear Mr. Haggerty: As my secretary wrote you, I was out of town when your letter of June 22 arrived with the photostat of the letter about Tung Oil from Mr, Watts, I was quite provoked to see my name being used quite freely and incorrectly in this letter and have taken steps to see that it is not done again. I spent quite a bit of time with Mr, Casey here in Memphis trying to make him see howthe clinical possibilities of tung oil should be studied. Apparently, Iwas completely unsuccessful. As far as I can find out, tung oil does have certain interesting physical characteristics, There are a number of interesting biological claims made for it which might be true, but there is certainly no evidence worth talking about to support them, I wish to thank you for calling this letter to my attention, doagont Sincerely yours, Douglas H, Sprunt, M.
